The
health & safety of Oldham County residents
is our #1 priority. Oldham County Emergency Management
is always ready and prepared to handle any emergency
or disaster that may occur whether it is Severe
Thunderstorms, Winter Storms, Flooding or any
other catastrophic event.
What
is Emergency Management?
The
Kentucky Revised Statutes mandates that the local
Emergency Management Director bring together the
local, state and federal agencies and private
sector resources needed to prepare for, mitigate
against, respond to, and recover from major emergencies
and disasters.
We
work with local, state, and federal agencies and
private, non-profit organizations to constantly
update our county Emergency Operations Plan (EOP).
We
help the Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC)
develop special plans for the many facilities
in our community which have dangerous chemicals
classified by the U.S. EPA as "Extremely
Hazardous Substances".
We
test and exercise the local plan through drills
and exercises. We train responders and support
agencies to be ready for all types of emergencies.
